Dr. Krishna Katira Associate Dentist

Hi! I’m Dr. Katira. Fun fact… I was born and raised in the beautiful, lush city of Nairobi (Kenya). At the tender age of 18, I moved to the United Kingdom to study dentistry and worked there as a General Dentist for over 11 years.

After my marriage, my husband and I decided to move to the US and that triggered the journey to re-certify myself as a dentist. Fast forward a few years, I graduated from the University of Minnesota as a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Distinction, going on to complete a 12-month Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency.

My thirst for dentistry only begins there – I am continually developing my skills with ongoing education, ensuring my patients always receive the most up-to-date and appropriate care. I believe that being a successful dentist is not simply about trying to achieve the right outcome, but also ensuring that my patients have 100% faith in my abilities to make appropriate treatment decisions; establishing that trust is a priority for me.

My special interests lie in Endodontics (root canals) and Cosmetic Dentistry. My next challenge is to introduce myself to Implants and Orthodontics (braces). I am very fortunate in that I am surrounded by great mentors at Lindgren Dental Care, to help me achieve these goals.

Growing up in Kenya, witnessing pain and suffering due to the lack of everyday essentials, such as basic medical care, inspired me to give back to under-served communities in any which way I can. Providing care to local communities, as well as, being able to go on mission trips to India and Guatemala have allowed me to start this process. Dental camps back home in Kenya is definitely on my ‘bucket list’.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bhavik, my son, Aarav, and our new (pandemic) puppy Ms. Mili! My favorite way to end a work week is ‘debating’ what our next Friday night movie will be (any recommendations welcome)! I also love being outdoors, biking, skiing, going for a long walk and I would love to add practicing yoga to my daily routine. But honestly, my true love is ‘losing myself’ in a great novel.

I hope to give my very best to all my patients on a daily basis and will be forever grateful for this opportunity.
